Green Smoothie Program Mix Up

Things have been crazy around my house. Although I have been determined to keep all the balls up in the air, my juggling skills are not what that once were. I lost a day somewhere and thought that I was still on the intro week of the Green Smoothie program. It turns out that today should have been the first day of the 21 Day Detox. Oops.

Mistakes happen and life goes on. I have started my fast that will launch my 21 Day Detox and I will continue to keep you posted on the journey.

Menu for This Day

Breakfast: I finished off my green smoothie from yesterday – spinach, cranberry juice, blue berries, mixed leaf lettuces, and two bananas. I would guess it to be about 16 oz for breakfast.

Lunch: There were several salad choices on the menu, but I went with a veggie sandwich. I ended up only eating half of the bread and pulling off most of the cheese (still shocking since I LOVE my bread and cheese). I was also disappointed that the vegetables had as little flavor as they did. Back in the car my husband mentioned that the veggies had been sautéed – I think that may be why I did not get the flavors I expected. I drank water with my meal and ate a couple of the house fries that come with all sandwiches.

Dinner: My blender is clean and since the 21 day detox program officially starts tomorrow – I am starting a 24 hour fast. It is designed to get me focused on my reasons for taking this journey and also get my body prepared to experience the flavors. Lemon water for me.

This intro program has gotten me excited about what is to come.
